Visit the cultural monuments around the port

Just a stone’s throw from the port of Sainte-Marine, you can visit the Chapelle de Sainte-Marine, remarkable for its marine votive offerings and its sandpits sculpted with boats. However, it’s not the only building that’s a real eye-catcher. Take a stroll along the port of Sainte Marine and you’ll discover an unusual house, recognizable by its pink color. The famous Abri du marin, renovated in 2009, is now a museum in memory of Jacques de Thezac (with themed exhibitions).

Walking around Pointe de Combrit and the GR34

At the Pointe de Combrit, you’ll find the GR34 coastal path, which not only offers magnificent panoramic views, but also leads to a number of interesting monuments. The Sainte-Marine Fort, built in the 19ᵉ century, hosts painting exhibitions within its walls. These take place from June to September, much to the delight of fans of cultural venues. Just a stone’s throw from the Fort, a visit to the south of Combrit, and more specifically Sainte-Marine, can continue to the Ste Marine lighthouse, also known as the “Feu de Combrit” is a 19thᵉ century monument not to be missed. It offers visitors superb views of the mouth of the Odet.
